Game Mechanics
Our server features modified gameplay mechanics to enhance realism and survival challenge. Understanding these systems is crucial for your survival.
Temperature System
Temperature fluctuates realistically based on weather, time of day, and elevation. Hypothermia and heatstroke are real threats. Layer your clothing and seek shelter during extreme conditions.
- Night temperatures drop significantly
- Wet clothing dramatically reduces insulation
- Fire and warm food help regulate body temperature
Hydration & Hunger
Food and water are scarce. Your character requires regular sustenance, and neglecting these needs will quickly lead to weakness and death. Hunting, fishing, and farming are essential skills.
- Always carry water purification methods
- Canned food is rare - learn to hunt and cook
- Overeatting can cause sickness
Medical System
Injuries and illness are detailed and dangerous. Wounds require proper treatment, diseases spread through contamination, and medical supplies are precious commodities.
- Bandages stop bleeding but don't heal
- Antibiotics are rare - avoid infection
- Blood transfusions require matching blood types
Stamina & Weight
Carry weight directly affects your stamina and movement speed. Pack wisely - every item has weight, and overloading will leave you vulnerable in critical moments.
- Stamina regenerates slower when overweight
- Running drains stamina faster with heavy loads
- Consider item value-to-weight ratio
Survival Tips
These are hard-learned lessons from survivors who came before you. Heed them well, or learn them the hard way.
Start Slow
Don't rush inland immediately. Loot the coast thoroughly, gear up properly, and only move when you're prepared for what lies ahead.
Trust No One Initially
Approach all player encounters with caution. Observe from a distance before engaging. A friendly voice can still hold a loaded gun.
Water is Life
Always prioritize finding water sources. Carry purification tablets or a water bottle at minimum. Dehydration kills faster than hunger.
Learn the Map
Familiarize yourself with Chernarus. Know where water pumps, medical facilities, and police stations are located. This knowledge saves lives.
Travel Light
Only carry what you need. Being able to sprint away from danger is often more valuable than having extra supplies that slow you down.
Avoid Gunfire
Shots attract attention - both infected and players. Use melee weapons when possible, and only shoot when absolutely necessary.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I join the server?
Join our Discord server first. There you'll find the server IP, required mods, and connection instructions. Make sure to verify your account and agree to the rules before connecting.
What mods are required?
We use a curated mod collection available through our Discord. The mod list includes quality-of-life improvements, enhanced survival mechanics, and atmospheric additions. All mods are available on the Steam Workshop.
Is this server for beginners?
While we welcome new players, be prepared for a steep learning curve. This is a hardcore server where survival is genuinely challenging. We recommend having some DayZ experience, but if you're willing to learn and patient, you're welcome here.
Can I play solo or do I need a group?
Both playstyles are viable. Solo players can thrive with careful play and good awareness. However, having trusted allies makes survival easier. Our Discord has channels for finding groups if you prefer company.
How do I report rule violations?
Use the #report-player channel in our Discord. Provide video evidence when possible, along with the player's name, time, and description of the incident. Admins will review all reports promptly.
Are there safe zones?
No. There are no safe zones on Echoes of Chernarus. Every location is dangerous. This is intentional - true survival requires constant vigilance. Trust is earned, never given.
